Alessandro Mendini is a famous Italian architect, designer and artist born in Milan. Since the end of the seventies he is one of the most important innovators of Italian design both as an intellectual and as a writer, and he directs the most important magazines in the sector, such as "Casabella", "Modo" and "Domus". He collaborates with some of the most important international brands of design and luxury. He won the Compasso D'Oro Award in 1979 and 1981, but he received many awards during his long and perfect career. In fact, he is an honorary member of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, "Chevalier Des Arts et des Lettres" in France, received the honor of the Architectural League of New York and the Honoris Causa Degree at the Politecnico di Milano and the École Normale Supérieure de Cachan in France. He is honorary professor at the Academy Academic Council of Fine Arts in China.
