The sustainable turn of SLIDE: green energy

In the last few years, SLIDE has improved its commitment to doing good for the environment. In our path towards sustainability, we have focused not only on what we produce, but also on how we produce it. Besides researching the raw materials from which the products are made, we have also improved the production method.

The sustainable soul of our company: electricity and natural gas

In 2019 we started renewing our production machines, which allowed us to reduce consumption. Our methane furnaces operate between 220 and 260°C. The machines have been equipped with a regenerative unit that, during the moulding phase, collects the dissipated heat and feeds it back into the ovens.

Since 2022, we have also given a "green" turn to electricity. We have installed solar panels on the roof of one of our warehouses and we also opted for every derived from renewable sources. The new solar panels allow us to produce almost all the energy we need. What we lack, we buy from the wind farm in Buseto, Trapani. So, we can avoid fossil fuels entirely.

The sustainable soul of our products: our raw materials

Our products are also increasingly environmentally friendly. We have always used linear low-intensity polyethylene, which is 100% recyclable. In recent years we have also introduced new materials. First of all, Ecoallene, which is produced from 100% second-life plastic from Tetra Pack boxes, which gives life to Ambrogio and Amanda. At the Salone del Mobile 2022, we presented new products made in bio-polyethylene, a material derived entirely from the refining of sugar cane.
