Two Slide products won the GOOD DESIGN® Awards 2018

The new year begins with big news: two of our products won The GOOD DESIGN® Awards 2018!

The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd reaches its 68th year of activity. It is the oldest and most prestigious organ that rewards design excellence and innovation. The jury has chosen and awarded the most innovative products from all over the world. Each year, the Chicago Athenaeum presents the GOOD DESIGN® Awards Program for the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world. In 2018 Gelée Lounge and Cucun are among the winners of these prestigious awards. These included the soft Gelée Lounge armchair and the large Cucun floor lamp.

GOOD DESIGN® Awards: and the winner is...Gelée Lounge by Roberto Paoli

Gelée Lounge soft armchair, designed by Roberto Paoli, was shown for the first time during Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2018 in Milan. It won thanks to its innovative structure and its "tasty" shape. Gelée Lounge has got a metallic body, so it does not deform, which is covered with soft polyurethane that makes it comfortable. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor. The shape of Gelée Lounge reminds of jelly candies and it is the last item that completes Gelée collection.

GOOD DESIGN® Awards: and the winner is...Cucun by Lorenza Bozzoli

The innovative feature of Cucun is its texture, that reminds of the ancient Japanese paper. To create it, we put some glass fibers, hand cut, and we mixed them together with the polyehtylene powder. Thanks to its precious texture, Cucun is more refined when you switch it off and it creates soft light effects when you switch it on. Cucun, designed by Lorenza Bozzoli, is an important result of our continuous research in materials and production process. The big floor lamp, suitable for indoor and outdoor, it is inspired by the simple and natural shapes of bulbs and flowers.
